Under  Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016 , all Real Estate Agents shall have to register with RERA before facilitating any transaction. Every Agent has to be listed by Promoter during the Project Registration / Status Updates without which agent can’t market the project.  If any real estate agent fails to register, he shall be liable to a penalty of ten thousand rupees for every day during which such default continues, which may cumulatively extend up to five percent of the cost of plot, apartment or buildings, as the case may be, of the real estate project, for which the sale or purchase has been facilitated. The registration number for real estate agents shall be valid for five years.In total, over 4,000 real estate agents are registered in Maharashtra. No extension for RERA Registration said, Gautam Chatterjee Dated on:  Monday 10th July 2017 MAHARERA chairman Gautam Chatterjee make it very clear that builders and developers will not be getting any extension for  RERA Registration in Maharashtra . Last day for Registration is 31 July 2017 only.Builders have been given 90 days time to register their ongoing projects with RERA without any extension of the deadline.Builders are liable to pay penalty in case they don’t get registered with RERA by 31 July 2017.  Only 3400 brokers and 300 projects have been registered in Maharashtra so far with MAHARERA. Chatterjee said he expects about 20,000 ongoing projects to be registered by the end of July. How can Real Estate Agents work with RERA?

The Real Estate ( Regulation and development ) Act to come into force in India on 01 May 2017.  Real estate agents are the nerve of real estate industry.They are the mediators facilitating transactions between builder and buyer. Section 9 and 10 of act covers real estate agents. Under  RERA provisions , all brokers are mandatory required to get registered with the concerned state-level regulatory authorities. Real estate agents will be given a registration number by the authority which will be valid for 5 years and will be quoted in every transaction facilitated by him.  The act states that only registered are allowed to function in the real estate market. RERA puts into loop all real estate brokers dealing in under construction projects.  Along with registration, real estate agents are also captured in penalty circle under RERA Regime.  Real estate agents will be penalized if they will falsely represent any information regarding the project to buyers....
